It is a great buy.
But it depends on what you plan on using it.
IT IS GREAT FOR …. Simple High def. television, video games, only watching a few hours of tv a day.
But don’t expect to get Samsung/Sony quality out of the picture.
They seem to have a whitish picture. They also seem to malfunction more then Samsung / Sony.
For a College student, it is a perfect buy.
I do however, Highly recommend buying yourself the Extended Warranty with the TV. I worked at Best Buy for 3 years and you have no clue how many of these came back.
This is definitely a good buy for you at $699 if you can really get a new one for that price right now.
Few things to look out for:
In my experience that low price usually means its either a “refurbished” item. Which means its either a retrn because it was defected or for any other reason.
Also, can just be listed at a low price to pull you in to order from an online shop and they then try to add on warranties and such for ridiculous prices.
Make sure of those two things before you buy and you will be ok.
