I have the pz800, i can say you’ll be amazed. In a room with low light the contrast is amazing. Plasmas seem to display a warmer more realistic picture with great motion handling.

If you go for the top of the line tv you’ll also benefit from great sound too.

Are you related to Daniel DeLewis? Anyways I’ll check that TV out.

I heard plazma is better for fast movements like Nascar and other fast moving sports.

Panasonic makes a darn nice Plasma tv. My mom plans on getting a 42 inch 800u for her small condo living room and she’s really excited. Some LCD’s like Sony XBR4 and the newer models are fantastic but as I view more and more HDTV’s I find myself liking Plasma’s Picture better a great Plasma is truly beautiful and is a little better for sports.

well said.. I guess it comes down to understanding how different hdtv’s deliver on colors and handeling the signal… Furthermore improvements on previous models. For me Im torn. I dont know which i should get. TH-50PZ80U or HL-61A750… plasma vs LED DLP…

You are right. Contrast numbers can be all over the map. And now with some listed at over 50,000:1, they are becoming meaningless - or at least, beyond what we can physically perceive.

  8. 762delivered says:

Contrast ratio really doesn’t mean a whole lot when you consider that theres no standard test between manufacturers. The 5000:1 is native contrast, and most manufacturers advertise their dynamic contrast numbers just to attract attention.
