Why should you not connect a PC to a HDMI input on a HDTV monitor?

VA asked: Even though I have seen some devices to convert VGA to HDMI, the manual for my Toshiba HDTV monitor (51HC85) warns to never connect this monitor to a PC.
There is no explaination why. Does anyone know? Thanks!
